St George
ICPA (Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association) is a volunteer, apolitical organisation committed to ensuring equity of access to education for regional, rural and remote students. The St. George branch meets four times a year and welcomes any interested families to come along and find out what ICPA is all about. The branch runs an annual week long Breaker Camp for Primary aged children of ICPA members. The art and sport camp offers children a chance to improve their tennis and swimming ability while also being introduced to sports and arts by qualified coaches and tutors not available in the area. A Bursary for the year 6 students of our branch is also offered annually. The children complete an hour long exam with the successful applicant receiving $300. At the Awards Evening for each of the 4 schools in our catchment area, an ICPA award is presented to students. The branch caters for local functions and clearing sales to raise money to fund these activities. We love to welcome new families to our branch.
